Bushel Policies
Learn how we manage data across the Bushel platform.
Data Ownership
The customer and Bushel have access to non-aggregated data. Non-aggregated data include information that can identify a person. Data owners have full access to their data in the cloud. Bushel will only use data that the owner of the data permits Bushel to use. Bushel deletes identifiable data when a customer ends their relationship with Bushel.
Data Storage
Data is stored on servers in secure facilities that meet or exceed industry standards. Bushel takes reasonable and customary security measures to protect the privacy and security of your data. In the event of a data breach, natural disaster, or other unforeseen event that causes your data to be deleted or compromised, we will notify you.
Platform Usage Data
Bushel will only use anonymous platform usage data to analyze how customers prioritize features of the Bushel Platform. This analysis informs Bushel on how to improve the features of its platform over time and zero-in on new features that will receive priority in our release schedule and roadmap. We collect platform usage statistics, performance metrics, etc. to help with continued development, security, reliability, and other platform improvements. None of this data is identifiable to a specific person or customer.
Data Sharing with Other Technology Providers
Bushel may also share data with other technology providers through links established through Bushel and such third parties. Bushel will not share data with other technology providers or third parties without first obtaining the data owner’s consent. Bushel is continually working to provide users with options to transfer and share data among different companies and data platforms. When data is transferred or shared with a third party, all use is subject to that third party’s policies and contract terms. Likewise, Bushel may allow the ability to upload data directly from third party technology providers. Any uploads from third parties are subject to Bushel’s policies and contract terms.
Adding Value to the Data
Bushel will analyze and interpret the data in order to publish reports which benefit the owners of the data. We do not allow our customers’ data to be used for the purposes of promotion or selling of products or services. We may use aggregated, non-identifiable data to deliver industry insights to customers and end users. We can provide value to the entire industry through our findings, with more in-depth content and findings reserved for our customers. This is controlled by technical architecture and contractual obligations. Any data published will be anonymized and de-identified.
Data Ethical Roadmap
We regularly review our overall data set using ethical and non-discriminatory lenses to ensure our data is not susceptible to intentional or unintentional misuse.
Data, Personal Information, and Privacy
As further described in our Privacy Policy, when you interact with us through your use of the Bushel products or the services or through your grain elevator(s), we may collect, retain, analyze, use, share, and disclose data and information, including personally-identifiable data, aggregated data, de-identified data, and other information from you. You agree that Bushel can provide such data and information as described in this document and in the Privacy Policy. By using the Bushel app or the services, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy and you understand and agree to our use of your data and information.
Your Data Choices
You can use the Bushel services without providing any personal data, however, you may then not be able to use certain features or aspects of the services. When you sign up for our services that require registration, we ask you to provide personal data. If we want to use this personal data in a manner different than the purpose for which it was collected, we will ask for your consent prior to doing so. If we propose to use personal data for any purposes other than those described in this document, our Data Policy or in the specific notice of services, we will offer you an effective way to opt out of our use of your personal data for those other purposes.
Limitations on Bushel’s Liability
Bushel is not liable for any damages that result from the disclosure of your data to any person or company provided such disclosures are made according to our Data Policy. Further, Bushel is not responsible for a loss or unauthorized disclosure of your data due to (i) an Act of God, (ii) other catastrophic event, or (iii) a data breach to the extent not caused by our breach of the Data Policy. Bushel’s liability is further limited in the Bushel Terms of Use.
