NAU Country Insurance Company, one of the largest crop insurance providers in the U.S., and Myriad Mobile, an enterprise software technology company focused on mobile and web applications, today announced a partnership to integrate crop insurance into Myriad’s Bushel™ mobile grain app platform.
“We are thrilled to partner with crop insurance pioneer, NAU Country,” said Dane Braun, Bushel product owner. “With the integration of insurance into the app platform, Bushel now has the seeds of a true ecosystem, bringing together the interconnected elements of the agriculture community allowing instant reporting of scale tickets to the insurance agent and underwriter.”
Bushel is the grain industry’s first automated mobile app platform for elevators and cooperatives to connect with their growers and deliver real-time information via a custom-branded mobile app. NAU Country is America’s original Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) company and the third largest federal crop insurance provider in the United States, specializing in MPCI, crop hail and named peril insurance products. The company is part of QBE Insurance Group Limited, one of the top 20 insurers and reinsurers worldwide.
“We’re about keeping crop insurance simple,” said NAU Country Chief Marketing and Technology Officer, Michael Deal. “NAU Country is highly differentiated in ag insurance through the use of technology and customer service,” added Deal. “The integration with Bushel empowers our insureds to utilize technology to easily manage claims while in the office, in the field or on the go–creating happier customers and agents.”
Bushel, powered by a proprietary application programming interface (API) and translator, eliminates data entry and streamlines communication, enabling growers to connect directly with their elevator via the app to receive bids, track contracts and monitor markets. Bushel mobile apps “sport” intuitive design, robust features and the best available security Myriad is known for.
“With the drought looming over much of the Upper Midwest, we knew harvest would be as critical as ever to elevators, coops and their growers,” added Braun. “Bushel empowers elevators to be more dynamic with their growers providing a seamless, all-in-one experience from cash bid and contracts, prepays and scale tickets. Now, with the addition of crop insurance we hope to simplify the claims process for growers,” added Braun.
Myriad recently announced a partnership with AgTrax® to custom integrate its TraxView® accounting system to Bushel to help accelerate deployment for their customers. Myriad also inked a deal to add Agweek regional media outlet to the platform as well as the development of their new mobile app. Additional ecosystem partners for news, weather and markets are in the works.
“Growing the ecosystem for Bushel–by bringing together valuable agribusiness channel partners–is an important avenue to keep the platform relevant to elevators and growers,” added Braun. “This is another way we’re working every day to help growers meet the challenges of global agriculture,” concluded Braun.
